WILD WEST TOURNAMENT
Buzzer tournament for all campers on the first night of camp. Each camper plays four rounds.
50-minute sessions with ten or less campers where buzzer questions are read for the purpose of gathering information and preparing for competition.
Once assigned, the Group Practice does not change, and campers take quizzes on the all-subject content from previous practices.
Once assigned, the Subject Practice does not change, and campers take quizzes on the subject-specific content from previous practices.
Scoring Practice does not have a quiz, but instead promotes/ relegates the top/bottom three campers in each room for the following practice.
Each Class section is a 50-minute instructional period focused around a particular quizbowl topic. Campers choose all their classes at the beginning of camp.
Each night of camp, students are assigned to four- and five- person teams to play in small three-round tournaments. The Team Tournaments are held in various formats.
A short competition of buzzer questions on one particular subject only. All interested campers participate in the Preliminary with top-scoring campers advancing to a Championship.
The culminating event of camp consists of one round of buzzer questions only. Campers receive bonus points in the Final Camp Championship based on their practice quiz scores throughout camp. The winner of each Final Camp Championship will receive a medal.
